| Each X10 receiver module has a house code ( a letter from A - P) and a unit code (a number from 1 - 16) that uniquely identifies it among the 256 different possible combinations. When a receiver module hears its user-settable code, it responds by turning On, Off, Dimming or Brightening a light, turning On or Off a fan, coffee maker, or most anything else you could think of. Depending on the receiver they also listen for All On or All Off signals which enable you to turn On all modules or Off all modules with the touch of just one button. A receiver may be a plug-in module, wired electrical outlet or a overhead light wall switch. |
