-- About High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) --
High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) has become a popular choice for home theaters and PC entertainment. HDMI combines both
digital video and audio into one cable. There are two options of HDMI cables that can be used with home entertainment: Standard HDMI
and High Speed HDMI. Both cable types are available with Ethernet as an option. This will allow for the HDMI cable to be used for
an Internet connection along with the video and audio. A "Standard" HDMI cable will support up to 1080i and 720p video standards
while a "High Speed" HDMI cable will support 1080p, 4K, 3D and Deep Color. HDMI is also compatable with
DVI and a person is able to have a
cable
with both connectors. This is useful for connecting PC's or laptops with HDMI ports to LCD monitors with DVI ports.
